Harry Potter Tag!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Good tag from my favorite childhood's series is a really good start of the year.
I found the original tag on http://tagsforeverybody.blogspot.com/2012/04/harry-potter-tag.html and this probably will bring back lots of memories and I'd better prepare some tissue papers in case I decide to break down hahaha.

BE PREPARED. THIS IS A LONG POST.

1. FAVORITE BOOK
Honestly, I'm torn between the first book and the last book. The last book kinda wrap up everything and I love when story comes to an explainable conclusion. I especially love the battle scene. It broke my heart but it was the best. However, I have to admit that the first book is the beginning of all. I can still remember reading it and imagining magical world, living that kind of life and all. The first book experience for me is incredibly amazing. Although, I started Harry Potter series with the second book, the first book gives me more explanation on how the magic works and it still is the one that I got back to read the most. This is difficult but I'll have to say my most favorite book is the first one, Harry Potter and Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone or in Thai: แฮร์รี่ พอตเตอร์กับศิลาอาถรรพ์

2. FAVORITE MOVIE
I'll pick Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. As I said in the previous question, I personally love the battle scene and this also refers to the one in the movie. I think the movie did really well on how to put together the ending. Really powerful and epic. It sounds crazy but I felt really sorry for Voldemort's downfall. That moment when Nagini gets killed, all his fear of death shines through his eyes. He's bad and he kills a lot but watching the scene in which the evil knows he's going to die ... it's like ... I don't know. Sad. I prefer to see his dead body like in the book because I remember how lonely he was once people started to reach for the bodies of their love ones and Voldemort's was left alone. However, I also think the death scene in the movie is still an interesting adaptation. The actor played his part really really well.

3. LEAST FAVORITE BOOK.
I like all books but I have to say that the fifth is my least favorite. There are so many people out there who dislike this book because they hate Umbridge but I actually don't like Harry's attitude in this more than anything else. He's so pathetic and makes himself so easy to be manipulated. It's annoying not to know when he's going to explode or makes things worse. I really feel sorry for Ron and Hermione. Plus, I don't really like his moments with Cho Chang.

4.PARTS OF BOOKS/MOVIES THAT MADE YOU CRY.
I cry whenever someone dies, even it's Voldemort. Apart from that, for the movie, I'd have to say it's when Voldemort tried to possess Harry in Ministry of Magic after the duel with Dumbledore. When Harry saw his friends, all the memories flashed back and he could finally overpower the Dark Lord. A really good scene.

Another part from the movie that I love is when Hermione erased herself from her parents' memories. Her determination to fight stands out for me and I really admire her for that.

As for the book, I cried a lot that I couldn't remember any particular scene ... yeah ....

5. IF YOU COULD HOOK UP WITH ANY HP CHARACTER, WHO WOULD IT BE?
Harry. I like that he's shy when it comes to girl things. I admire his loyalty although his arrogance pisses me off sometimes. The others for me are like .... nah ....

6. FAVORITE CHARACTER
I really really really like Snape. He's such a noble man and although he's a bit sour, his character is still interesting. He has made a great sacrifice and he really shows the true human-being and resembles me in the sense that we both (want to) do great things but they all started from our simple-selfish reason. Hermione is another favorite of mine since the very beginning. She's smart but on top of that, she's such a good friend and she never gives up on doing something right. When she chose Harry over Ron, I know it broke her heart but that really proves how much she cares for what is right rather than her own happiness. Ok, but actually they both are not my most favorite characters because Voldemort wins all. I don't like him as a person but I like him as a character. He's great even though not in a good way. The way his character was built really captures my attention. His evilness doesn't come from nowhere. The way this character has been developed, the more we get to know him made me realize how many kids grow up this way. How many of them turn into criminals like Voldemort? I always wonder, how would it be if his mother was stronger both mentally and physically and was able to raise him. So Voldemort wins in terms of the complexity in his character. His character resembles one's desperation, solitude, greed, fear, ambition and many aspects of dark side in human's soul.

7. WHAT WOULD YOUR PATRONUS BE?
Hmm at first I thought of a dog but then I think I'll go with a flying horse like Pegasus. Not a unicorn. It's a horse with wings. That'd be cool.

8. IF YOU HAVE THE RESURRECTION STONE, THE INVISIBILITY CLOAK OR THE ELDER WAND, WHICH ONE WOULD YOU CHOOSE?
This one is pretty easy for me. I'd choose the invisibility cloak. There're some times when I want to disappear from the world. If I had this, I could make that dream come true.

9. WHAT HOUSE WOULD YOU BE IN?
According to Pottermore.com and other quizzes I've taken, I'm a Ravenclaw. Well, I personally think I have a bit of everything in me. I can be cold-blooded evil like Slytherin, I'm arrogant like Gryffindor and I'm caring as much as one Hufflepuff could be. But I was sorted into Ravenclaw, maybe because I'm such a nerd and I have that hunger for knowledge. I love learning new things. I live for that in real life. I wouldn't say I'm smart, I just like learning. That's why I was sent to Ravenclaw, I guess.

10. IF YOU COULD MEET ANY MEMBER OF THE CAST, WHO WOULD IT BE?
I'd say Alan Rickman, the actor who played Snape. I think he did a really great job interpreting this character. He made Snape more likable. The scene when he found Lily's body always brings tear to my eyes. I especially love the way Snape speak, his accent, the way he pauses to make his statement powerful, cold and creepy. It worked perfectly fine. It would be so great to know how he motivates himself in order to portrait this particular character.

11. HAVE YOU EVER PLAYED ANY VIDEO GAME?
I played PC game long time ago. I remember playing the first and the second one. That's it. I'm really hoping there will be HP game in Sims version. It'd be so great and that'd be so close to be able to live in Harry's world of magic.

12. IF YOU WERE ON A QUIDDITCH TEAM, WHAT POSITION WOULD YOU PLAY?
There's no way I could be a Keeper nor a Beater, so there're only a Seeker and a Chaser left. I was thinking about being a Seeker because the Seeker works alone and he/she cares for nothing but the Snitch. However, being Seeker comes with a lot of pressure which I don't like. So I'll have to go with Chaser.

13. WERE YOU HAPPY WITH THE ENDING?
ABSOLUTELY. It's a tragic ending and many beloved characters were killed. However, it's so great and epic to end the story this way. The way Voldemort was killed was by the disarming charm from Harry. He died from his own killing curse. And that's such a good message: you're your own worst enemy.

14. HOW MUCH DOES HARRY POTTER MEAN TO YOU?
I've grown up with Harry Potter. When I was a child, I would wait every year for the books to come out, for the movies to be in the theater. It's part of my childhood. An important part, I'd say. I've read the story since I was in Grade 4 and up until now I'm still reading it. I even write the fan-fiction. I visited Wizarding World of Harry Potter, dragging my boyfriend along and screamed at everything I saw. I was so thrilled. I still am now whenever I hear Harry Potter's news. I'm always on Pottermore. I always go back and read the whole series. So, Harry Potter means a lot and teaches me lessons everytime I pick it up to read. If I ever had children, these would be the books I read for them every night before they go to sleep.

And that's it for the tag! I never thought it'd take me so long to answer all the questions but it did take me all afternoon. Hope you enjoy the post and  I'm looking forward to writing on my blog more often this year! :)
